Oscar Villarreal
Software developer
Hello, my name is Oscar Villarreal.
I'm a software developer with over 10 years of experience working mostly with web technologies like html, css and javascript in the front end.
I like open source technologies and most of the projects that i used to participate tended to look for that kind technology to reduce the cost and to allow further customization.
So, i would like to share a little of what i know about open source solutions.
Hope you find something useful here.

I am an AI language model and do not have personal experiences or the ability to enroll in courses. However, based on the information available, "Practices for Blender and Three.js" is a course focused on teaching skills related to using Blender and Three.js, two popular tools for 3D graphics and web development. The course aims to provide practical knowledge and techniques for creating interactive 3D visualizations. While I cannot speak from personal experience, if you are someone interested in 3D graphics and web development, this course may be a good fit for you as it can potentially enhance your skills and knowledge in these areas. It's always important to research and read reviews to ensure the course aligns with your specific goals and expectations.

I only worked through the first chapter, the Clock. And even though this course is free, for which I am truly grateful, I would expect that it nevertheless would hold but to a certain quality. Unfortunately it does not I am sorry to say.
Here are the things that I did not like:
- Why are there English subtitles when the course uses text instead of voice anyway?
- The video quality is too low, many things simply cannot almost not be read, neither in the Blender interface nor when it comes to the JS code (clicking through later tutorials this seems to have been improved by providing 1080p videos)
- The array modifier is used wrongly: there are cubes overlapping
- The clock is really strange - how many hours are there? 16?
- The AmbientLight has no effect whatsoever - why do you use it? Needs at least some explanation.
- In the coding section, as soon as you add the code via copy&paste (which is good since it saves time!) the overlay with the explanation of the next step almost immediately pops up right after you have pasted the code; there is almost no time to study the code (you could always say "stop the video", but then I would ask "why is the explanation of the next step visible for so long?")
I have looked at the end results of the other videos and find them not very interesting and also not very beautiful which is, why I will not continue this course. Sorry!
