The retina is such an intricate and delicate part of the human body. Understanding it isn't possible without also studying the areas immediately adjacent to it. This course handles this very well in a visual manner with ease and efficiency that promises the learner to become a retinal expert by the time they are done with the course.
Starting with the vitreous which lines the inner aspect of the eye, we discuss its histology and all the different areas contained within it.
We delve deeper into the histology of the retina to understand its cellular structure and how that all works together for the process of light perception, we also go into detail regarding the anatomy of the retina and different parts within it with graphs to demonstrate each and every one of them.
The retinal pigment epithelium is such a vital part of the retina that no discussion of the retinal anatomy is really complete without including it. We demonstrate the latest science has to offer as regard the RPE as well as the Bruch's membrane.
We conclude the course later on with a description on the choroid and the sclera; layers that line, protect, & nourish the retina.
Intended to be the beginning of a series of courses specializing in the retina.
