- Aerodynamics
- Structure
In this course we will go through the different disciplines of car design, we will break down the different systems and explain how different components work. Also, we will see how the car systems work together and how they interact with each other. It will be all about the basics and keeping it simple.
First, we will talk about ergonomics, which is basically how the driver and the occupants interact with the car. We will see how important this aspect is, and surprisingly how it is often overlooked.
Then, we will explain the workings of the powertrain and how it propels the car. We will make it easy to understand the function of the different subsystems involved.
Afterwards, we will dive into the fundamentals of the suspension system. We will also find out how and why the suspension system is designed the way it is.
Aerodynamics comes next, which is one of the most interesting topics in automotive engineering. It is also, arguably the most complex one, and that's why we will simplify it in the best possible way.
Lastly, we will get an insight into the structure of the car and how it lays the foundation for all the systems and the components inside the car.

I am an automotive engineer with extensive experience in automotive engineering and design. I studied master’s degree in advanced automotive engineering. I also participated in international car design competitions like FSAE. I had the opportunity to work at big OEMs and participate in challenging and diverse projects which gave me the opportunity to apply everything I learned in real life and gain a valuable insight into car design.
