Description
Pathophyiology is a convergence of pathology & physiology. It comes from two Greek words, “pathos” = suffering; “physis” = nature origin; and “logos” = “the study of”. Pathophysiology refers to the study of abnormal changes in body functions that are the causes, consequences, or concomitants of disease processes. Studies of pathophysiology are concerned with the investigation of biological processes that are directly related to disease processes of physical, mental, or psychophysiological conditions and disorders. It includes the study of disordered physiological processes. Thus, pathophysiological study aims at identifying biological markers and mechanisms for predicting and explaining disease processes in terms of etiology and pathogenesis. The aim of this course is to provide students with an introduction to clinical medicine through the study of diseases as manifestations of pathophysiology.
A description of the underlying pathophysiologic mechanisms that underlie several common diseases related to bones & infectious diseases. With this approach comes an explication of the symptoms and signs of each disease state and an essential framework for the student’s knowledge of treatment strategies in each case.
For some diseases, diagnosis is also explained in detail.
The aim of this course is to introduce students to diseases as manifestations of disordered functions related to bones and infectious diseases.
In the coming courses, pathophysiology of other diseases will be explained.

Poor examples and explanation. Like if you want to say there is pain then describe how neuron membrane gets injured and starts realsing prostaglandins. Then when you take a pain killer or an NSAID how the molecule draws towards the neuron and stops the release of prostaglandin's.

I thought that the descriptions and explanation were good. The lectures covered a number of pathophysiology very strongly connected to connective tissue. However, I hoped that connectivity between lectures in reset of cause and effect would have been stronger. For example, the impact of the environment and the causative effects it may have as contributory to the development of rheumatoid arthritis, gout, diabetes, osteoporosis and etc. Some kectires allude to exposure to the toxins, micro and macro contaminants, however, it does not suggest that removal of these environment pollutants / toxins / contaminants and to stop exposure... Should be considered in treatment options. Certainly constant exposure will result in steadfast regression and render all treatments futile. Another consideration for medical treatments thtbibcrease risks may be that oncology treatment should considers the harm done to the body in respect of degeneration of all tissue and thus organ sites. It is not surprising tgt most oncologists would bit want to undergo chemotherapy due to the Marduk side effects. This is a common sentiment. Perhaps the regeneration if tissue should be xbsideres as supplementary and perhaps primary in treatment if major disorders, conditions and all medical treatments since chemicals used for treatments are additive to the toxins that may density the cell nucleus along with metals and eventually cause arthritis, gout, diabetes and other major silent killers. Failure to consider this could be a strong contributor to the development of mesothelioma ... and result in lethal toxicity to fatal ends. For the most part, I found that the course was helpful. More short videos showing blood clotting, a jovial fluid build up...genetic modification, apoptosis, oxidative stress, uptake if toxins and route taken in the body with cause and effect would encourage interaction and excite the study more. . All in all a good free lecture. Thank you. 👌🙏
