- Introduction
- Concept of indeterminacy
- Degree of static indeterminacy of structures
- Examples on degree of static indeterminacy
- Degree of kinematic indeterminacy
- Examples on degree of kinematic indeterminacy
Do you know how Civil Engineers analyze different structures before their design ? Do you want to know basic fundamentals of structures? After completing this course you will be able to find static indeterminacy of structure; which is required to be find before analysis of any structure. Also you will be able to find kinematic indeterminacy of structures. Different methods of structural analysis require initial calculations of static and kinematic degree of indeterminacy if structures are statically or kinematically indeterminate.
This course explains basics of structures, their classifications and concept of statically and kinematic structures has been introduced. Differences between pin jointed frames and rigid jointed frames has been discussed with examples. Students will learn how to decide whether any structure is statically determinate or indeterminate, what are compatibility equations. This course best describes the process to determine degree of static indeterminacy for beams, rigid jointed frames and pin jointed frames. Students will be able to understand what is kinematically indeterminate structures, concept of degree of freedom, how to find degree of kinematic indeterminacy for beams, pin jointed frames and rigid jointed frames.
Students will apply the this knowledge for their further structural analysis subjects where it is require to analyze the structures most of them are either statically determinate or kinematically determinate.
