1) Jane Frizzell has been called "an F.E.I. rider's secret weapon" and is known as a trainer's trainer. She has been riding for 50 years; 32 years as a professional. She started the original SCHOOLMASTERS' ACADEMY in 1994.
Jane's own thorough education was overseen by un-compromising masters: the late Major Anders Lindgren, the late Dietrich von Hopfgarten, and the late João Oliveira. The first half of her career was fully supervised and spent on FEI horses whose foundations were rock, not sand— horses trained by geniuses like Rehbein, Klimke, Hinneman, and Mikolka.
2) Soñador XVIII demonstrates the textbooks and FEI requirements to the letter in the RLC Video Series. His education was made by the late Georg Theodorescu.
It's very informative and thus quite enjoyable.
Excellent, especially for a free course. Everyone needs to the vocabulary and it crossed quite a broad view, it missed a lot of western terminology, so it is easy to see the instructor is not super broad based in equestrian education, however, there is a lot of depth and I loved how the terminology was laid out for the student! A great refresher and I shared the course with all of my students, English, Western or Spanish riders and even some that drive in our 4H club as well. Good job!
The information in this course is direct, concise, and very relevant. It is so plain and obvious that most riders think they are already adhering to it. However, I can say from personal experience that until you are watched under a critical eye and your “feet are held to the fire” so to speak, you most likely are not. Not to sound disparaging because once you understand fully and you and your horse feel the correct way it is really so easy and physically almost effortless. It does require attention to detail and being present in the moment, but the rewards are instantaneous and immeasurable. Keep on the path!!
definitely not an exciting view but informative
This is a highly informative lecture that gives the necessary details on how I should ride. Being that I am an amateur, I find it refreshing to have something I can apply to what I'm learning in real time. If you're looking for something dressed up in fancy terms and platitudes then you should look for information elsewhere. I need to learn, and I'm very grateful that I've found Jane and her content! This course is a MUST. As a rider in today world we have lost must haves of riding. Jane does an excellent job explaining and teaching what we must do. I highly recommend this course.
Yes! Jane Frizzell is an exceptional teacher. We all can benefit from her lifelong devotion to horses and their riders. I can't wait to see where she goes next with her teaching and riding!
I only wish this was around when I was in German riding school learning these terms in another language! Jane Frizzell has an excellent understanding of classic foundational principles and terms and makes them accessible in a very concise and easy to learn way. I’m so excited to see the next part of this course, it feels like relearning the language of the masters. I have ‘felt’ and ‘experienced’ most of these terms but now am better able to articulate and conceptualize them in riding outside of just feel. This could be an amazing tool to advance yourself mentally and prepare you for further, deeper instruction in practice.
