This UDEMY course follows my Doctoral Capstone Experience for the past 14 weeks. I have been completing this experience in Ames, Iowa with an organization called Adaptive Sports Iowa. ASI provides a variety of sports and recreation programs to those with disabilities. The goal is to keep these athletes healthy and improve their overall quality of life through the use of sports and recreation programs. I have been involved with Adaptive Sports Iowa for about 12 years now, but this experience opened my eyes to many programs that I have never participated in. I did get to participate in one of my favorites which is wheelchair basketball, however the other 4 programs that I helped out with and participated in were all new to me. Beyond participating in the sports I was also helping facilitate the weekly events and even the bigger fundraiser events. I created handouts and set the Iowa Sports Foundation up with a new equipment lending program to make the equipment lending and education process easier for both the borrower and the lender. I am so grateful to Drake University and the Director of Adaptive Sports Iowa, Hannah Bowman for allowing me to complete my Doctoral Capstone experience at an organization that is so close to my heart.

Optimize Health and Extend Lifespan with this Simple Recommendation
Hello everyone, my name is Callison Fini and I am a third-year entry level occupational therapy doctoral student at Drake University in Des Moines, IA.
Throughout my time in OT school, I have been exposed to many different settings and conditions through my fieldwork experiences. I have always been very passionate about helping others in various ways and adaptive sport has been something which was meaningful and motivating to me. Offering persons with disability inclusivity in sport activities is important as these individuals want to engage just as anyone else does.
