Leighton Campbell is the holder of a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies and possesses 10 years experience in providing e-commerce and digital communication solutions to small and large companies.
Leighton’s entrepreneurial journey started whilst working at Coretalk Caribbean, the Caribbean arm of a global SMS software provider. By displaying strong attitudes of leadership and ingenuity, Leighton was offered an equity stake and the title of CEO within one year of working with the company. Whilst at the helm, Leighton led the growth of the company from being a startup to having clients like National Commercial bank Of Jamaica and University Of The West Indies; to name a few.
After 5 years into his role, Leighton recognised the need to pivot the business to fulfil growing market needs. As a result, Mobile EDGE Solutions was formed to help companies use ecommerce and mobile communication to service their customers anywhere-anytime. Mobile EDGE has since been driving innovation within the online business space and now service companies across all industries with clients in Jamaica, the Caribbean and North America.
In his quest to boost growth, Leighton participated in the 2018 Cohort of the JBDC accelerator program where his business realised immense growth over a 6 month period. And at the end of the program, he was awarded most improved business and best team player of his Cohort. Through hard work and perseverance, Leighton was later awarded the title J.B.D.C. Boss Man of the year 2019.
Leighton excels in this field not only because he has strong technical competencies, but because he is first a problem solver who is adept at finding innovative ways to create value for his clients. He takes extreme pride in his work and believes that anything is possible once you put your mind to it.
