Dr. David (Dave) Engberg is passionate about the power of education to elevate and empower individuals and societies. A lover of travel and different cultures, he has visited all 50 U.S. states, traveled to more than 30 countries, and enjoys meeting and speaking with people from around the world.
Professionally, Dave worked in the international education field for over 20 years, where he directed international program offices at both public (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Montana State University) and private (University of St. Thomas) universities, and held staff positions at the American Council on Education’s international education office, Boston College’s Center for International Higher Education, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before starting his university service, Dave lived and studied in Germany and lived in Japan, working as an English teacher.
In 2102, Dave left university service to found Global Opportunities Group (GoGroup), a global education services agency. In 2020, to better reflect its evolving services, GoStudy was renamed Aegis Education, LLC. today Aegis Education provides courses, advising, and editing services for international students seeking admission to U.S. colleges and universities, and it provides technology tools designed to help colleges and universities minimize travel and Clery Act risk.
Dave holds Bachelors degrees in German and Geography, a Masters in Anthropology, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration. In his free time, he teaches English and U.S. citizenship classes and enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
