Good course overall, although not exactly my preferred learning style. The instructor goes through a number of slides with different words or phrases in hiragana and repeats them a couple times. Her explanations of concepts and pronunciation is pretty good, and it's great that it's mostly in Japanese for listening practice. It's really up to you to go through at your own pace and repeat as necessary. I took this class mainly to learn some vocabulary and the chance to brush up on some basic grammar/phrases. It felt a bit overwhelming at times - it's almost like if you were given a textbook with someone reading out phrases for you. I wouldn't recommend this course for an absolute beginner with zero knowledge, but it's a solid choice for people that have encountered hiragana before and want to review.

I was self taught for Japanese earlier on (in life) and I appreciate Ms. Lee and her enthusiasm for language learning as much as I do. Unfortunately over time, I was not using my Japanese as much as I'd like to and so for my brain's sake wanted a refresher. She does such a great job explaining in her teachings that I felt comfortable learning. I also love that her pronunciation of Japanese is so very well spoken that I was highly impressed! I can highly recommend this course for beginners and anyone seeking to learn Japanese. I hope in that she may continue with intermediate and advance classes. I can not wait to get to started on her Korean class as well as I am an absolute beginner when it comes to Korean. Thank you so much!
