Description
Vertex Painting is a tool for 3D Artist to generate data that can be used for many things. The most popular one is to blend different textures.
In order to use vertex painting you will learn how to paint inside Unreal Engine 5 using the Vertex Paint Tool. You will learn the basic theory and how to debug different vertex painting channels to visualize the data.
Then you will learn how to create materials that can use this vertex color information. We will start with one single blend but then we will increase the complexity by adding multiple blends to different channels.
This method will allow you to increase the quality and complexity of your 3D models without the need to add more modeling details. It is extremely useful to add variation to your worlds and uniqueness to each asset so that you can create a rich and complex world.
Last but not least, we will take a look at Quixel's automatic Blending Material that uses Vertex Painting to quickly apply everything we learnt and save time when creating your own materials in the future.
Vertex Painting is widely used in all AAA game projects and it is the secret to make them look like they have rich and complex worlds. After watching this course you will be able to do the same on your own projects.

UNF Games
Industry veterans providing you the best tutorials in Unreal
Hello!
We are UNF Games. A group of Industry veterans that has worked together in multiple indie and AAA titles.
We are currently a group of three developers:
Mao - 3D environment artist who has worked previously in Ubisoft. He worked on titles like Skull and Bones and Immortal Fenyx Rising. He started using Unreal Engine since 2012 and is an Unreal Authorized Instructor partner for Epic Games.
Ram - Expert programmer who has worked in both indie and AAA titles. He has worked on Imp of the Sun and in other AAA titles. He is currently working on Sonus Requiem, an original IP made in Unreal Engine 5. Ram is also an Unreal Authorized Instructor partner for Epic Games.
Guillermo - Expert VFX artist with a huge emphasis on fantasy style effects. His attention to detail brings you one of the most detailed VFXs results when following his tutorials. He started using Unreal Engine since 2012 and had worked in multiple indie game titles as a VFX artist. He is currently the Crative Director for Sonus Requiem, an original IP made in Unreal Engine 5

good fore beginers
Kurs krótki i doskonały - i taki powinien być. Omówiono wszystkie metody vertex material w UE. ---- :-) The course is short and excellent - and it should be. All vertex material methods in UE are discussed. The UE editor version 5.3 has some anomalies when painting with RGB channels. In some situations, in order to get the correct colour, e.g. RED, one has to select not RED, but Green and Blue - then the editor gives vertex RED (?). Blend Material (version UE editor: 5.3) - select only 1 material and create the Blend Material in Quixel Bridge. The other 2 materials should be added manually using textures. I like the course very much - very well done - and most importantly the course is short and to the point.
