What you'll learn
- Letter sounds that will enable them to learn how to teach a child how to read
Description
I was sitting with a teacher who was telling me that when she was raising her children she did not teach them the names of the letters of the alphabet, instead she put all of her focus on helping the children to learn the sounds that each letter made, even when she would sing the ABC song instead of saying the name of each letter, they would sing the sounds for each letter such as “Aah, Buh, Cuh…”
My journey began and I am still searching to learn the best way to teach letter sounds. I discovered Montessori and their hands-on approach as well as Lisa Adele’s (How to Teach Phonics for Preschool or Kindergarten Homeschooling (lisaadele) online webinar who helped me learn that there are 44 sounds that are key for kids to learn.
As a result, this course is combining the knowledge of sounds plus fun music plus the ability for repetition whereby parents and children can watch these videos repeatedly.
I think this course will help in the mission of helping children learn how to read and open the door to the worlds that await them and increase their wisdom, understanding & awareness that comes from reading.
I love the poster where the cartoon character is pulling so hard on the door and is super frustrated when all he had to do was to read the sign on the door which said PUSH.
