Description
This basic math course is designed to provide physics students with the fundamental mathematical skills necessary to succeed in their studies. The course will cover topics such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, without the complexity of their application in physics. Students will learn how to solve equations, manipulate functions, and use mathematical tools to help them with physics problems.
The course will begin with a review of basic algebraic concepts, including equations, and functions. Students will then move on to trigonometry, learning about angles, vectors, and some trigonometric functions. The course will also cover some basic calculus, including derivatives, and integrals, with an emphasis on their applications in physics.
Throughout the course, students will work on problem sets and exercises designed to reinforce their understanding of the material. These problems are focused on practicing and strengthening their ability to problem solve. Doing so will provide students with the confidence needed to succeed in their physics class without worrying about their math skills.
By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in the mathematical concepts and techniques necessary for success in physics. They will be able to apply these skills to a wide range of physics problems, and will be well-prepared for more advanced coursework in the field.
