Description
Anna Brees worked as a reporter and presenter for the BBC and ITV for ten years. In this first module she covers EVERYTHING you need to know to start creating professional quality video on your mobile device.
Anna will guide you through the whole process - from filming, editing, presenting and then finally broadcasting to your chosen social media platform.
Anna will invite you to a closed Facebook group, where you can post your video for feedback and support following the course, with the opportunity for it to be shared to my 300k followers!
This course will give your video the professional lift to make it stand out.
Landscape, Square or Portrait Is your video for a new audience on the grazing news feed? This is where approx. 83% of content is watched with the sound off. So your best format might be square, short-form video with subtitles. If it is for an already engaged audience for example on YouTube or Vimeo, an online course or for your website – landscape and long form is a better format.
Headline, top shot and story The three essentials to get people watching your content. The headline (also called the text introduction), the very first shot (thumbnail) and the story - hook them in and keep them watching.
Where is the Story? How to tell a story from beginning to end and keep your audience watching.
Sound Good quality audio is essential, we look at how you can achieve it with or without a microphone
Lighting & Stabilisation How to use natural light indoors and outdoors, and ways of keeping your shots steady with and without equipment such as selfie sticks and tripods.
Three shot sequence We look at the three types of shots you need, (wide, mid and close ups) along with looking out for those magic moments, if they capture your eye, they will capture your audience’s too.
Editing KineMaster The basics of the editing app KineMaster, trimming and moving shots, adding voice over and layering.
Subtitles & Autocue The quickest way to add subtitles to your video at speed and on location via your mobile. We learn how to be authentic when we present and to do it with confidence and energy.
Live Broadcasting How to make it engaging - working on your location and having interviewees lined up.
Pick a format Which one suits you best? A piece to camera with layers, the As-live, news package or square story-telling video.

I know it’s been a few weeks since our workshop, but I just wanted to drop you a quick line.
We have been using our new found skills and have made a number of little films. Still developing our skills, but some of the team are getting really good at it. Straight after the course, we purchased a fair bit of equipment, having experienced how vital having the right kit is.
I also wanted to check whether you might want to include a very sincere and heartfelt testimonial from the team, as the workshop was genuinely, one of the most helpful for a very long time.
"Our communications team attended a two day filming workshop which was informative, fun and engaging, where we learned how to create amazing professional and high quality videos just using our mobile phone and some basic equipment. The best workshop we’ve attended for years and superb value for money. A game changer in terms of what we will now be doing. Thank you Anna!"
"An AMAZING couple of days training with Anna Brees! I knew it was going to be good BUT it seriously blew my mind, and the teams. This training is a game changer for the Traffic Scotland media team. Special thanks to Anna for being such a brilliant mentor. " Gillian Kirkwood, Traffic Scotland
“The software is amazing. The presenter was superb and really inspiring. Staff came away having learnt so much - that they are now really excited to try out.” Amie Field, Area Manager Careers Wales
"First class trainer and first class content. Anna Brees is a leading New Media practitioner." Neil Wilby, former area managing director Yorkshire Regional Newspapers

Happy so far

Excellent introduction to producing video content for social media.
Very good match
Great tips and advice for making short videos, I’m really looking forward to joining you on your course to learn more.
Great course
it was a great course for beginners in video and editing but for an amateur like me it was a little bit boring
Thoroughly enjoyed the course, easy to understand, and can't wait to put what I have learned into action! Thank you, Anna Brees :-)
Lessons that get right to the point while still being simple enough to grasp. There is no filler material presented; everything that was covered in the course was relevant to real life and immediately applicable. If you are interested in learning how to create high-quality videos on your mobile device in a professional manner, I cannot recommend this course strongly enough.
