Thank you, it was a good to have done this course.
I knew the techniques initially but this course helped me review and revise them in a simpler way.

This course was really interesting. I really liked how the professor was very descriptive and went into depth with the subject. She explained very well how social and psychological factors can make medical problems worse or stay there longer. Overall, my favorite part of the course was when she used hypnotherapy on her patient Debbie. I found this technique very engaging in trying to help patients with smoking addictions too. This course was very helpful in helping me learn new techniques to help me cope with stress that I have from school and work. Highly recommend this course!!

Dr. J's course on Stress and Health Problems: Symptoms and Therapies is helpful for anyone that is trying to understand how stress can hinder your daily activities and affect your overall well-being. She puts everything into simple steps to understand the effect of stress. She offers great techniques to ease stress and examples to are easy to apply. She discusses different methods to buffer the effects of stress (relaxation, meditation, TM, hypnosis, self-instruction). I love the hypnotherapy session with her passion. One of the things I like best about Dr. J is her love and passion for the field of psychology. I also like the additional resources she provides the Stress Scale for Students.
This course provides insightful information on how stress can impact one’s physical health. It provides several examples of how to cope with stress by identifying physical responses during stressful situations. Learning about how the immune system is impacted by multitudes of stress explains why I always find myself ill at the end of each semester. By identifying this, I can better prepare myself at the end of each semester with better eating and sleeping habits to hopefully avoid illness. I am motivated to begin practicing relaxation training to help me relax during stressful situations at work. Sometimes I’ll come home from work with a bad headaches, so if I can learn techniques to manage my tension, I’ll be more likely to enjoy myself when I get home.

Another amazing lecture! I will be going into Physical Therapy, and this lecture has helped me figure out tools I can use with my patients. I loved the demonstration of hypnosis. I was so enthralled in that portion of the lecture I almost felt myself following along with it. The Type D personality test was kind of eye opening. Usually, I would not consider myself too negative, but after taking the test i scored 17 in the negative effect and 9 in the social inhibition, which makes me basically a type D (I know it should be 10 or more for social inhibition but I am so close to it). This is something I am now more aware of about myself. It was also interesting to see the stress scale for college students. The amount of stress we cause within ourselves is ridiculous, especially in the years that are meant to be enjoyed before we start "stressful jobs" and years of our careers. It was great to learn about the therapies that help stress, such as meditation and hypnosis. When I have a huge test coming up, I typically do yoga mixed with meditation for about 10-15 minutes and it makes me feel so rejuvenated. Now it is nice to know that that is an actual psychological therapy for stress.

Very applicable to the real world and helpful. I suffer from insomnia due to high stress levels and have incorporated meditation and relaxation exercises to better cope. These techniques have certainly helped regain a better night's sleep by relieving the stress aspect of it.
I would say that the hypnotherapy video was really helpful in showing how something like that can actually help. I like how there was actual demonstrations and not just straight lectures. I tend to learn more by others showing me, so it made it much easier for me to understand.
One thing that I would say would keep this website/lecture as good as it is, would be to keep having lectures where you actually demonstrate and not just have lectures. Even combining both lecture and lab/demonstrations to help those out that are more visual learners

Dr. J's always provides engaging and informative material, which makes it fun and interesting to watch. The hypnotherapy video was definitely my favorite, in which Dr. J's demonstrated a therapy technique to help her client Debbie with her smoking addiction. I highly recommend watching her videos being that she does a great job when teaching content that is beneficial in real life experiences.

This course was definitely made captivating by Dr. J. The lectures were brief yet told in a steady pace and were direct to the point. Students tend to get lost during long, fast and overwhelming lectures. What I thought made the lecture more captivating was the demonstration of how hypnosis worked. Not that many get the chance to see it in a real-time and personal manner. I felt that her demonstrating this in the beginning of the the course showed us students how much passion she has for these psychological topics and how determined she is to help us understand.
So far this course has been very informative. Especially the second video, since it displays how hypnotherapy can be effective in actual practice in trying to relieve the clients habit of smoking. I also thought that the relaxation treatment and SIT were extremely applicable in my case, since I have been stressed out recently. These treatments can be applied in helping me cope and deal with my stress.

Dr. Stohs has given us an insight of what happens during therapy sessions and for her to publish this online for her students to watch shows that she is passionate about what she does. There is much that I learned about the concept of stress and health. I would really be interested in more videos of Dr. Stohs talking about mental health with real life implications. Such a knowledgeable woman!
