It’s a pretty isolated person who has managed to avoid the rise of social media in the past decade. Social networks have come and gone (Bebo who…?) but the concept is certainly not going away, and clear winners are emerging.
Twitter is one such winner. It offers a hugely targeted marketing channel which allows you to reach customers directly, building relationships, creating buyers and developing fanatical fans.

I'm a Podcasting and Online Learning PhD based in Dundee. My main work is now in teaching Podcasting online, helping small businesses to market themselves through voice.
Having learned my eLearning trade with Edinburgh Napier University, I now teach a number of online courses, from Podcasting, to Moodle to social media.
My main job is as Managing Director of The Podcast Host ltd, a company aimed at helping everyone get into Podcasting - teaching the skills and offering the tools needed to promote your business, hobby or teaching through podcasting.
