The use of java was strange for a course on blueprints? very disappointed in this course. the examples were not practical in the context of making a game.

I just started this course and enjoy it so much. The instructor is engaging and funny. The examples make sense. I will update this review at the end but for 20 minutes in I am amazed.
I was disappointed. The use of Java was a bad choice. No hands-on game dev examples for the design patterns.

It is probably fair to say that I am not in the list of "Who this course is for". I already know design patterns, and I think I know Unreal pretty well. But I took this course nevertheless, hoping to find something new.
Now, as it is not fair to leave an average mark without some feedback, I think there are a number of ways this course could be improved:
- Better explain each design pattern beforehand - Start with the original problem that lead to the appearance of the pattern. And please try to find better and more interesting examples besides the GoF quotes
- The flow can be improved - I believe there would be better value of just pointing to the written code (as the students can get it from git) - especially if there's tricky parts. Also, maybe some quizzes or assignments where the students get to write the code themselves, if they so choose. Last, but not least, I think the length and volume of the jingles is a bit much
- Regarding the Unreal part, I think there's much potential left for making parallels between Observer - Dispatchers, Singleton- GameInstance, to name just a few
Anyway, congrats for the effort so far!
