My passion is helping people see challenges as unlockable. My profession is chief innovation officer. My practice is driving more successful change outcomes. This is my civilian passion project to capture and share what I've learned with educators stepping out of the classroom and behind a webcam.
I’m looking for a way to support our educators stepping into online instruction. I was born to a teacher and married a teacher. I have two sons about to start 4th and 7th grades in our local public school district. I have learned a lot about virtual engagement that I hope to package and share in as practical, actionable tactics.
My company, Prosci, teaches organizations how to support their people through change to improve outcomes – technology changes, structure changes, new policies and standards, etc. I am the Chief Innovation Officer and have spent almost two decade enabling more successful change. On March 1, 2020 we taught all our training programs in person – all around the world to all kinds of organizations – including many higher ed and some public education institutions. In a matter of weeks, we had to pivot our entire training portfolio to virtual delivery. Now, we have been delivering virtually for a number of months with great results.
Along the way, we learned a few things that may be valuable to our educators right now. As many teachers in public education step into virtual delivery and online instruction for the first time, and many without support for how to engage virtually, my hope is that I can put what I’ve learned into an actionable toolbox for educators to provide guidance to more easily and quickly step into virtual delivery, instruction and engagement.
This is a personal passion project at intersection of interest, importance and contribution. (thank you to Adam Grant for the inspiration).
