Description
Imagine combining fun with maths and English, then incorporate Halloween into that as well!
That is the goal behind this course; with a range of activities from prime numbers to times tables, word searches to writing a story to images to colour.
The course is designed so that you can just drop into the units which are relevant for you and your child. Some of them you may choose to tweak to make them more relevant to your child’s level of ability, others you will probably use as they are. Hopefully, this course will provide you with some suggestions and ideas to get you started.
With 20+ years of working in/ studying childcare and education I have learned that if we can incorporate a range of resources when we are supporting our children with their learning, we will help them to create different memories, making it easier to recall the information when it is needed.
Furthermore, if we can make it enjoyable, they will be more likely to want to participate. The more they participate the more practice they get. With practice comes ability. With ability comes confidence and it becomes a positive spiral of success.
I hope you enjoy the ideas that this course provides and in addition, more importantly, it also provides you with quality time with your children.

Create your dream tutoring business/support math & English
When my oldest daughter was young, she came across as being very clever and astute when you spoke to her, but when you saw her written work, you would think it had been produced by a completely different child. She could spell the same word 2 or 3 different ways on the same page and not notice a difference between any of them.
I asked her school if they agreed that she might be dyslexic. They instantly dismissed dyslexia as an excuse for laziness.
I didn’t have the confidence to push my point further so I decided to do everything I could to help her myself.
Over the coming years I learned everything I could about different learning styles and learning difficulties. I completed a degree in childcare and education and worked in numerous educational settings. Often with children that had profound learning difficulties.
In 2012 I started a tutoring business. Everything I had learned up to this point influenced how I presented it. Everything I had learned told me that for learning to be effective it had to be inspiring, motivating, interactive. The child needed to be relaxed, feel confident and enjoy the experience. So those were the foundations I used. Those were the principles that made us so different from so many other tutors. These experiences and influences were what have led us to be nominated for several national business awards and help numerous children in the UK and beyond, develop both confidence and knowledge in both math and English.
In addition, I am now helping families by providing short courses with explanations and suggested resources. These are the resources that we use as tutors and have proven so popular and successful.
