Welcome to an original course built on practical experience - "How to advance your career in Management".
An investment of less than 1 hour of your time will give you access to 20 great opportunities to improve your performance and advance your career. The course provides a wealth of opportunities to take away and practice in your day to day role as a manager. The material in this course has been sourced from the author's practical experience of 30 years of successful management.
The target audience is anyone in a management role, ideally with line management responsibility for a team of people. The course is aimed at:
Graduate Trainees
Newly promoted managers
Experienced Managers looking to gain promotion
The Course uses the JDI Framework, which measures an individual's potential against 3 indicators, Judgement, Drive and Influence. The framework is used by organisations to recognise and develop talented people.
There is a lecture and quiz for each indicator in the framework (Judgement, Drive and Influence). Each lecture provides examples of behaviours that can easily be mastered. The lectures contain real life examples of how the opportunities were used by the author.
By the end of the course you will have created a short list of opportunities to take away and practice in your job. The opportunities can be used to support your Personal Development plan and can be shared with your line manager at your next review.

Following an early successful career as a Software Engineer I realised that my future prospects would be greatly enhanced by a move into management. Management roles suited my analytical and financial management skills and I quickly progressed my career into Senior Management roles in Information Technology services.
Whilst working at Unilever I was asked to present to one of our teams in India on how I progressed my career. I observed that career progression in Unilever was very competitive and individuals needed to differentiate their performance to be noticed. Reflecting on my personal experience, I realised that my differentiation had been achieved by doing the simple management tasks effectively and not by doing anything out of the ordinary. I used my experiences to map my top 20 learnings to the JDI (Judgement, Drive and Influence) Talent Management model used by Unilever to identify future leaders. This presentation became the basis of my course on "How to Succeed in Management".
