- Interview with Dr. David Jeremiah about the making of this docudrama
Experience the sights and sounds of the first Christmas in Bethlehem in Dr. David Jeremiah's docudrama course, Why the Nativity?, a fascinating presentation of Biblical history creating an unforgettable journey through the wonders of Christmas!
You will have a front-row seat to the Nativity story as you witness Gabriel appearing to Mary, Joseph and Mary traveling the 120 mile road to the crowded city of Bethlehem, angels appearing to shepherds, the brilliant star guiding the Wise Men from the East, and baby Jesus lying in a manger in a humble stable in Bethlehem.
The first Christmas a perfect illustration of Isaiah 55:9: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."
If it had been up to us to plan and carry out the birth of the Messiah and Savior of the world, we would not have planned it the way God did. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. To say the first Christmas was unexpected is an understatement. And yet when we study how and when it happened, it all makes sense!
That is our focus in this Jeremiah School of Biblical Studies course--to answer, as best as we biblically can, questions about the unexpected way the first Christmas happened. But before we begin, let me offer one clue right here: the deeper we go in understanding the unexpected nature of the first Christmas, the more we will discover about the unexpected nature of God's love for us.
Let's look as the unexpected moment, the unexpected manner, the unexpected mission, and the unexpected meaning of Christmas as we examine their impact on Mary and Joseph, Bethlehem, the Shepherds, and the Wise Men.
